Baptist Men

The Baptist Men at Oak Ridge minister in many different ways to the church and the surrounding community.

Whether it is a project in the home of an elderly church member or a project around the church the Baptist Men work as the "hands and feet" of Jesus. Many times you can find some of the Baptist Men grilling, working, and serving in various ways at church events.

On a Sunday you will find Baptist Men ushering, collecting the offering, praying during the service or serving in different areas around the church. The Baptist Men are vital to the life of the church.

The WMU also helps lead the church in mission collections to minister in the community and around the world.

Children’s Ministry

Jesus made it very clear that children were important to Him. Here at Oak Ridge children are important to us too. Our Children's Ministry encompasses children from birth to the end of elementary school.

On Sunday mornings we have classes for children that help them learn the truths of God's Word through age appropriate material. During our Sunday morning service we have a time specially set aside just for the children to come forward and have a time of learning with the Pastor called the Children's Sermon. Following the Children's Sermon, kids have the option to attend our child focused "children's church".

On Wednesday nights we have mission groups that teach children the importance of missions and the work missionaries do around the world. Our school age children on Wednesday nights are divided into two classes, Royal Ambassadors (R.A.'s) for boys and Girls in Action (G.A.'s) for girls.

Not to be left out, we also have nursery services during all of our services for those too small for regular classes. Our dedicated group of nursery workers enjoy caring for children so parents can participate in services.

Student Ministry

Teens are faced with tons of difficult choices in today's society. Many of the temptations and challenges they face are different from those their parents faced. These challenges make it all the more important for teens to have a solid spiritual foundation on which to rely. Oak Ridge has a Youth Ministry that helps teens build their spiritual foundation. On Sunday mornings and Sunday evenings we offer Bible studies tailored just for teens. In addition to the Bible Studies the group has a great time as they fellowship together during other activities, trips, and events.

College & Careers

It is estimated that as many as 70% of college students end up walking away from their faith. At Oak Ridge we strive to prevent this from happening with our own college students and those entering the workplace. We have an active group of young adults who gather for Bible study on Sunday mornings and seek to serve our church and our community. If you are looking for a group to belong to, this is a great place to start!

Senior Adult Ministry

As we get older sometimes we feel the need to slow down. For the Senior Adults at Oak Ridge that is not the case. Our Senior Adults are active in many different areas of service in the church. In addition to serving in key roles of leadership in the church our Senior Adults also help teach Bible Studies and lead mission groups.

Every other month our Seniors enjoy a Saturday evening meal at the church where they are able to fellowship together. They also gather for other meals and fellowship times. Day trips and retreats are also enjoyed by our group as they fellowship and minister together.

Music Ministry

Music is vital to our worship of God. Music is a way of praising God and expressing our love and devotion to Him. During the services at Oak Ridge you can expect to hear a blend of differing styles of songs during our worship service. You will hear everything from classic hymns to modern praise and worship songs. You will hear children and adults singing solos, the congregation singing together or our adult choir leading us in worship. Our hope is that the music we enjoy in worship will draw the congregation closer to the heart of God.

Through our music ministry we also have other special events that add to our worship of God. From time to time we have special groups and singers lead us in worship. We also have special services where our Adult Choir performs musical programs and our children perform plays. All that we do through our music ministry is designed to enhance the worship of God for those in the congregation.
